Some marriage counsellors have argued that a perfect marriage is hard to come by because couples tend to disagree on issues from time to time, but they note that the success or otherwise of marriages, depend largely on how couples handle their differences.
Usually, when talking about divorce, one of the factors that readily come to mind is infidelity, which simply means being unfaithful to a spouse. But beyond that, there are other things that lead to divorce, such as spousal abuse, bad manners, peer influence, unrealistic expectations, lack of quality time with one’s spouse, inadequate communication, deceit and unsatisfactory s*x life.
According to a seasoned marriage counsellor, Elly Prior, common relationship problems that often lead to divorce include cheating (be it one-night stands, internet relationships and long-and short-term affairs), excessive reliance on social media, s*xual problems, significant differences in core values and beliefs, traumatic or life changing events, boredom, jealousy, family issues and domestic abuse.
Other reasons include incompatibility, lack of responsibility and finances, unrealistic expectations, addiction to certain unpleasant substances, lack of support in times of need, poor communication, etc.
In another twist, some psychologists in their study identified other factors that could lead to a divorce such as bad s*x, laziness, dirty appearance (mouth odour), being too needy or demanding, distance, lack of self development, too much interest in television and social trends online dangerous to marriage.Other factors identified are stubbornness, arrogance.
“Also, men would more likely be turned off by a woman who talks too much and has a low s*x drive while women, on the other hand, were more likely to discontent with men who has high s*x drive but don't do a lot in the area of communication...”
Reacting, a Nigerian professor, Oni Fagboungbe said:
“What we call courtship is fizzling out. It’s no longer there, yet people need to understand themselves. They need to agree whether to make the marriage work or not, and that is the essence of communication. The agreement tend to shapen their mentality and with that, there is tolerance, acceptance, support and other variables that will make the marriage work.”

Eleven All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in Kogi state have endorsed Mohammed Audu, son of the late Abubabar Audu, threatening to oust any other governor who emerges other than their choice.
Maman Rabiu, a member of the Kogi state house of assembly, who spoke on behalf of the APC lawmakers, said the younger Audu has the clout of his father and is capable to lead the state.
“We present to the national leadership, Prince Mohammed Audu to replace his late father. It is not because he is the first son, but try him, he is very intelligent and equal to the task. With him, we will have the Kogi of our dream,” he said.
“It is not a threat, but we told them that we have no intention of washing our dirty linen in public. Removing somebody is just a two minutes job for us as lawmakers in the state.
“We are the legislators and have told the national chairman our position that in any case anybody is smuggled in contrary to what we present to them, we know the best way to remove him.”
Rabiu advised the party to accept its recommendation, saying James Faleke could still be retained as the deputy governorship candidate.
“We are the electorates and we know why we are here. There will be no solution to this problem without giving us listening ear. Prince Audu was the man who went through primary before nominating Faleke as his deputy,” he said.

lunch together at a restaurant in Surulere.
While in the middle of their meal, a fly came in
through the window. It flew across the table
to where the Igbo man was but he just
waved his hands to chase it away.
The fly then went to where the Yoruba man
was, he also chased it away.
Finally, the fly then went to where the Chinese
man was and was flying close to his ears. The
Chinese man looked at the fly for sometime
and then grabbed it, put it in his mouth and
swallowed it.
The other men saw this but just kept on
eating.
About Five minutes later, another fly came in

it away again.

Senate Confirms Danbatta As New NCC Boss
The Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta as the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
He was appointed in acting capacity by President Muhammadu Buhari on August 4 following the expiration of the tenure of Dr. Eugene Juwah as NCC chief.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs, NCC, Mr. Tony Ojobo, the confirmation on Thursday followed “thorough screening by the Senator Gilbert Nnaji -led Communication Committee, before the Committee of the whole affirmed Prof. Danbatta appointment for the next five years.”

Federal Government To Adopt New Job Creation Measures — Ngige
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige has revealed that the Federal Government will design a new approach that will tackle the massive youth unemployment in the country and assist in moving the economy forward for the benefit of the people.
Ngige, who made this known in Umuahia when he paid a courtesy visit to the Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, assured that the government would depart from the old ways of tackling the perennial problem of youth unemployment, as his ministry will give attention to skill acquisition to enable people to be self employed as against being job seekers.
The Minister, who was in the state to commission an ICT skill acquisition centre completed by the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, at Ugwunagbo Local Government Area, LGA, explained that the directorate was committed to combating unemployment in addition to formulating policies on employment.
He revealed that the NDE would keep a database of employed, unemployed, employable, under-employed and gainfully employed youths of the country for easy assessment.
“Government cannot give employment to everybody, but we can teach people how to employ themselves. The NDE established the skills acquisition centers where people are trained on how to do things with their hands and earn a living for themselves,” Ngige said.

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Abubakar Audu, who died on Sunday vomited blood before he gave up the ghost.
The media reported that he died of undisclosed medical reasons.
While some attributed it to heart attack, others speculated different causes.
Speaking to DAILY POST, a source close to the family said his relatives narrated how he died.
“I spoke with someone in late Prince Audu’s family.
“The person told me that the former governor repeatedly vomited blood.
“The family tried to rush him to the hospital but he died in the process.
“There is speculation of food poison or spiritual attack but no one can say for now.
“But his family confided in me that blood kept gushing out from his mouth.”
An autopsy is very unlikely as Audu would be buried within 24 hours according to Islamic rites.
