On Sunday May 22, 2016, Prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church, made some shocking revelations on his Emmanuel TV station concerning Nigeria and the world at large. The ‘prophet’ spoke on many issues including the recent EgyptAir crash, terror attack in the UK and our agriculture.

He read out a transcript of prophecies he gave at his New Year’s Crossover Service, highlighting particularly the national food scarcity. On each point read, he expanded further, detailing what Nigeria and Africa are to expect in the days, weeks and months ahead.

THE FOOD SCARCITY
“There will be large scale scarcity, shortage of food. As a state, country, continent, we have to go back to the farm to arrest, to alleviate the forthcoming situation”, he read. Further expanding on the details of the prophecy, he said, “It is only a ‘shortage’ that you are experiencing now; you have not experienced ‘large scale'.”

Giving further insight, he proclaimed, “This one that I am saying now, ‘scarcity’, ‘large scale’, it's a proverb. Whatever you can do from now till December - all of your money you will use to buy food - you will not have enough to buy.”

Advising those in the real-estate business he said, “If you are the type planning to build a house now, stop it for the mean time. If you are in the business of buying land, stop it for the mean time - look for another business. Stop it for the mean time... Use that money on the need of people now.”

Giving a sombre warning, he said, “I'm preparing you. Get ready; lager scale scarcity is coming!”

In the last few days, Nigerians have woken up to the stark reality of the rising food scarcity. Several reports were released on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday detailing the extent of the current national food woes. 'Tomato Ebola', violence from fulani herdsmen, missed harvests and rising transportation costs have all been attributed as the cause of the food shortage and spiraling food prices.

On the rise of "tomato ebola", Kaduna state government had said: "This is only the beginning of a disaster if we don’t take drastic measures because the disease is fast spreading across the north.”

ON NIGERIA'S ECONOMY
TB Joshua said, “You have to continue to cut your coat according to your size. Don't just continue to spend your money on something that won't be able to help you. Spend your money on something that the whole world will be looking for - food, shelter.”

Oh dear...what a tragedy! There is a wave of sorrow in the camp of Nigerian Football Professional League club, Plateau United, as the club lost one of its most promising midfielder, Shehu Sabole, in a ghastly road accident along the Jos-Kaduna road. 

What is even more tragic about his death is that he died on his way to prepare for his own wedding which was scheduled to come up this Saturday (in six days time).

The club’s media officer, Mr Albert Dakup, said that Shehu was excused from Sunday’s game against Kano Pillars to go and prepare for his now aborted wedding ceremony. He decided to leave Jos for Kaduna on Sunday morning to meet with his parents about preparation for his wedding ceremony only for him to be involved in the ghastly accident that claimed his life.

Pius Hemwan, the club’s acting general manager has commiserated with the family of the deceased... assuring them that the club would help in the burial rites.

This Handsome Soldier was Killed by The Wicked Boko Haram

Francis Adigun, a gallant Nigerian soldiers who's a member of the Armed Forces Special Force, lost his life during the recent rescue operation of women and children from Boko Haram.

He left behind his daughter Sonia and her mother. A friend, Adewole Pus Adesina had this to say:

"He paid the supreme price, he gave his life for the freedom of others. While rescued women and girls were reunited with their families, he is parted from his forever.

"I sit here still finding it hard to believe you are gone. Let us always remember freedom comes at a price and let us also remember those who paid the price. He was a loving father, a wonderful friend, a caring brother, a great footballer and above all, a gallant soldier.

"Rest in Peace Francis Adigun, I will miss you, your family and friends will miss you, the Armed Forces Special Force will miss you. @seal of honour."

Update on Suspected Wife Killer, Lekan Shonde: Police Go For His Wife's "Boyfriend"

Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Pathologists conducted the much expected autopsy on the remains of the late Mrs Ronke Shonde on Thursday but declined to make the result public.

It was learnt that the alleged lover of the victim, one Kayode, had been invited to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, to make statements to the police as investigation hots up.

The case is getting interesting: the landlady of the house where the incident happened, expressed shock over Ronke’s death. The landlady said her husband, Lekan, has never beaten her before, in fact the woman said she had never seen them engage in a physical fight before.

But the wife's sister is claiming that 51yrs old Lekan beat his wife, Ronke, to death.

To set the records straight and possibly clear his name, Lekan Shonde surrendered himself to police.
